New Wave icon Adam Ant still has five dates left on his current U.S. tour performing his 1982 post-Ants solo debut Friend or Foe, but he’s already announcing plans for a second American leg of that tour, a 16-date run next April and May that will focus on the western states. Nick Cave used his fan Q&A newsletter “The Red Hand Files” to announce this morning the release next week of a new Bad Seeds record, a double album called Ghosteen that will include eight songs on Part 1 and a two “long songs” linked by a spoken-word piece on Part 2. Morrissey has postponed his planned tour stop in Houston tonight with opener Interpol, citing the “extreme flood conditions” in the area in the wake of Tropical Storm Imelda that could prevent fans from being able to get to the concert. Depeche Mode will premiere its latest Anton Corbijn-directed concert film “Spirits in the Forest” — filmed in Berlin at the final show of the band’s 2017-2018 Global Spirit Tour — in movie theaters around the world on Nov. 21. It’s being billed as a “one night only” event. Full details right here.

Ric Ocasek, the 75-year-old frontman, guitarist and songwriter for The Cars, died peacefully in his sleep while at home in New York City recovering from an unspecified surgery, his wife Paulina Porizkova said in a statement shared on social media on Monday. Full details right here.

Fans had good reason to believe The Stone Roses’ 5-year-long reunion ended with their June 24, 2017, concert in Glasgow, yet there was never any formal announcement — until now. Ric Ocasek, the pop genius who wrote a string of hits for The Cars, the legendary new-wave act he fronted and played guitar for through the late 1970s through the late ’80s, was found dead in his New York City apartment, according to multiple news reports. He was 75.

If you’ve ever gone looking for live footage of Tones on Tail — Daniel Ash’s and Kevin Haskins’ post-Bauhaus, pre-Love and Rockets project — you know what a black hole that is. Which is why it’s so thrilling to see Glenn Campling, the band’s bassist, sharing rare live footage of the trio performing in Scotland in 1984.

Bauhaus today added a second concert at the Hollywood Palladium after tickets for the band’s surprise comeback sold out in minutes — a pair of shows that the band’s frontman Peter Murphy will follow up in January with rescheduled New York City dates he’d been forced to cancel last month after suffering a heart attack.

R.E.M. today shared a previously unreleased song the band recorded 15 years ago at the famed Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas in an effort to help raise money for Mercy Corps’ Hurricane Dorian relief and recovery efforts in those storm-ravaged islands. The track can be streamed for free or purchased for $2.

Sinead O’Connor is returning to the concert stage after a four-year hiatus with a short Irish tour this fall — and she made her public re-appearance last week with a stunning performance of “Nothing Compares 2 U” and The Pogues’ “Rainy Night in Soho” on Irish TV’s “The Late Late Show.” Watch both right here.
