Peter Hook continues to lash out at his former bandmates, saying he wants to ‘fuck New Order over in any possible way I can’ and that he believes the band — which is reuniting without him for a pair of European charity gigs — is now planning to mount a full American tour as well.

Making their first U.S. television appearance in eight years, Jane’s Addiction appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ last night to perform their new single ‘Irresistible Force,’ off the upcoming ‘The Great Escape Artist,’ as well as a show-closing take on the classic ‘Stop!’ See both performances here.

The B-52s next week will release their first-ever live album — the 18-track With the ‘Wild Crowd! Live in Athens, Ga.’ — and the folks at Universal Music Group have provided us with three copies of the disc to award to lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs readers.

Wall of Voodoo this fall will receive a new, nearly career-spanning anthology — the 17-track ‘Lost Weekend: The Best of the I.R.S. Years’ — that combines the highlights of the band’s 1980s output recorded with original lead singer Stan Ridgway and the vocalist who later replaced him, Andy Prieboy.

R.E.M. today released a 2:46-long trailer for its upcoming, career-spanning best-of — the 40-song ‘Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011’ — that also offers up the first taste of ‘We All Go Back To Where We Belong,’ one of three new tracks that will appear on the set, which lands Nov. 15.

Depeche Mode’s debut ‘Speak & Spell’ was released on Oct. 5, 1981 — exactly 30 years ago today. To mark the occasion, we present the band’s first few appearances on ‘Top of the Pops,’ which find a group of very young men — introduced as ‘Depech-ay Mode!’ — miming along to their early hits.

Having wrapped their global Pandemonium Tour with a final show last December, the Pet Shop Boys now are at work writing material for their upcoming 11th album, which they hope to begin recording next month and then release sometime next year, singer Neil Tennant says in a recent post to the band’s official website.

Kate Bush will give fans their first taste of her new album ’50 Words for Snow’ — the singer’s first collection of new material since 2005′s ‘Aerial’ — next week when she releases ‘Wild Man’ as the record’s first single via digital outlets worldwide.

Peter Murphy next week will release ‘The Secret Bees of Ninth,’ a six-track digital-only EP that features the previously unreleased songs ‘Rose Hunter,’ ‘Good Works’ and ‘Secret,’ plus bonus and extended tracks from his most recent studio album, ‘Ninth.’

This month’s tape features new music from Jim Reid of The Jesus and Mary Chain and INXS with new lead singer Ciaran Gribbin, plus rarities from The Smiths, Elvis Costello and Ian McCulloch and classics from The Replacements, Propaganda, Camper Van Beethoven and the late R.E.M.

R.E.M.’s rare 1981 ‘Cassette Set’ demo tape — 400 copies were sent to labels, clubs and journalists — has surfaced online, giving many fans their first taste of producer Mitch Easter’s original mixes of ‘Radio Free Europe,’ ‘Sitting Still’ and ‘White Tornado.’
