Ride stopped by Seattle’s KEXP radio station this past September while in town to promote the group’s comeback album Weather Diaries, and performed a 40-minute set for broadcast that included performances of four songs off that new LP and a couple of old favorites from Nowhere and Going Black Again.

The Fall’s planned seven-night residency in Brooklyn next year — which were to be the band’s first U.S. dates in more than a decade — has been canceled, as Mark E. Smith continues to recuperate from the health problems that already had forced the rescheduling of those shows.

R.E.M., Sleater-Kinney members team up to headline benefit shows for Scott McCaughey

A host of musicians — including R.E.M.’s Peter Buck and Mike Mills, as well as Alejandro Escovedo, members of Sleater-Kinney, The Decemberists, Drive-By Truckers and The Shins, and more — will perform two concerts in Portland, Ore., next month to raise money for Scott McCaughey, who suffered a stroke last month.
