As promised, Paisley Underground-era rockers The Dream Syndicate last night reunited onstage in Los Angeles with former bandmate Kendra Smith, who left the group after playing bass and singing on its acclaimed 1982 debut The Days of Wine and Roses. Watch the decades-in-the-making performance here.

A host of musicians — including R.E.M.’s Peter Buck and Mike Mills, as well as Alejandro Escovedo, members of Sleater-Kinney, The Decemberists, Drive-By Truckers and The Shins, and more — will perform two concerts in Portland, Ore., next month to raise money for Scott McCaughey, who suffered a stroke last month.

Film director Tim Pope finally let the cat out of the bag, today announcing plans to collaborate with Robert Smith on a “feature-length, chronological documentary of The Cure’s history from the 1970s via present day to the future” — a project that promises to include never-before-seen footage.
