The full list of this year’s Record Store Day releases is expected to be revealed on Tuesday, but sharp-eyed fans of The Cure have spotted evidence that this year’s titles will include a vinyl reissue of 1990 remix album Mixed Up and something called Torn Down: Mixed Up Extras 2018. For this week’s installment of Vintage Video, we turn the clock back to 1984 to find Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders on the comeback trail, touring in support of their third album Learning to Crawl, recorded and released in the wake of the deaths of founding members James Honeyman-Scott and Pete Farndon.

Cherry Red Records next month will follow up 2016’s Action Time Vision: A Story of Independent U.K. Punk 1976-1979 with a second box set featuring 114 “indie punk classics, rarities and obscurities” spanning 1980 to 1983, and spread over four discs. See full tracklist here.

As The Psychedelic Furs prepare to open a spring run of largely California dates this week, the band has expanded its 2018 plans, announcing they’ll follow a brief foray into Spain and the U.K. with more West Coast dates this summer at which they’ll be joined by L.A. punk legends X.
