The Stone Roses’ Ian Brown is chronicling his solo career with a limited-edition, 13-disc box set that will include all eight of his albums on CD, plus additional CDs of B-sides and remixes, plus a DVD loaded with all of his music videos and a 12-inch record featuring eight previously unreleased remixes.

Vince Clarke and Martyn Ware teamed up in the late ’90s to record a pair of atmospheric albums under the moniker The Clarke & Ware Experiment. Now, a dozen years later, they’ve paired those two albums with eight CDs of unreleased material to create a limited-edition box set called The House of Illustrious.

Dinosaur Jr will follow up its just-released studio album I Bet On Sky with a limited-edition live album recorded in 1987 and released as a vinyl-and-download combo, according to listings at online retailers. The Chocomel Daze LP will be released Nov. 19 by Merge Records on 150-gram vinyl and limited to 2,000 copies.

Simple Minds last week announced plans to release a double-CD live album culled from this year’s “5×5 Live” tour of Europe, and now comes the full tracklist, which, keeping with the tour’s concept, draws five songs apiece off of each of the band’s first five albums. Check out the full tracklist.

The Pet Shop Boys have released a new music video for “Leaving,” the second single off their 11th studio album, ‘Elysium,’ which was released worldwide last month. The single itself is out Oct. 15 in a variety of formats featuring a variety of B-sides, including non-album tracks and remixes.

Limited to 1,500 copies, the set features one CD and one DVD “featuring all the tracks and remixes across the Tomorrow’s World project that have not been commercially available, or have not been available on a physical format, plus all the videos that accompanied the Tomorrow’s World album and singles.

The House of Love’s self-titled debut album on Creation Records — the second of three eponymous releases from the U.K. indie band — is set to be reissued this fall in an expanded 3CD set, with the original 10-track album supplemented by 40 bonus tracks, including non-album singles, B-sides and 19 previously unreleased demos.

Soundgarden tonight revealed the cover art and an 85-second teaser video for its forthcoming record ‘King Animal,’ the reunited group’s first new studio album in 16 years. The album arrives Nov. 13, and will be Soundgarden’s first since ‘Down on the Upside’ in 1996.

Their box set may be on hold, but Australian rockers Midnight Oil do have a new release up their sleeves: In November, the band will issue a new 2CD, 36-track best-of titled ‘Essential Oils,’ a truly career-spanning overview of the band’s catalog, sampling cuts from 1978’s self-titled debut through 2002 swan song ‘Capricornia.’

Sonic Youth today announced that it finally will release a long-in-the-works archival, 14-track live album that was recorded on 4-track cassette on Aug. 11, 1985, at Chicago’s Smart Bar while the band was touring the U.S. in support of the the release earlier that year of the group’s second studio album, ‘Bad Moon Rising.’

The all-too-brief early ’80s career of synthpop duo Yazoo — comprised of singer Alison Moyet and former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke — will be anthologized next month on a new 2CD set called ‘The Collection,’ which assembles singles, cuts from the band’s two albums and both vintage and recent remixes.

Long-running darkwave favorites Clan of Xymox — still centered around founding member Ronny Moorings — this fall will pay tribute to some of its own favorite bands with a collection called ‘Kindred Spirits’ that will feature covers of tracks by The Cure, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and the Banshees and both Joy Division and New Order.

On the eve of its fall North American tour, John Lydon’s reconstituted Public Image Ltd. will release a new double-A sided single off this year’s ‘This Is PiL’ album, spotlighting the tracks “Reggie Song” and “Out of the Woods” and featuring, as B-sides, tracks recorded in 2010 at New York City’s Terminal 5.
