The reunited Dead Can Dance — co-founders Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard — have released their first new album in 16 years, and are now a few dates into their first live dates since 2005, following a tour-opening concert in Vancouver, B.C., last Thursday. Depeche Mode isn’t expected to return to the stage until 2013, but about 150 people got an unusually up-close-and-personal glimpse of frontman Dave Gahan in action Saturday night when he performed a special one-off show with Soulsavers, showcasing seven tracks off ‘The Light the Dead See.’

The Cure tonight played the first of at least 19 European festival dates on the books this summer, and Robert Smith had a little secret to reveal at Holland’s famed Pinkpop Festival: new guitarist Reeves Gabrels, a former David Bowie collaborator who previously recorded with Smith in the late ’90s.

The first of weekend of the newly expanded Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival kicked off last night, and one of the most anticipated acts was Pulp. Their set, like many others’, was webcast last night, and now thanks to this capture of that livestream, you can watch the full 10-song, hour-long performance.

The Cure headlined the U.K.’s Bestival tonight, delivering a 32-song set filled with hits and a few lesser-aired tracks — including the first performance of ‘The Caterpillar’ in 20 years — with a lineup that included the return of keyboardist Roger O’Donnell, who says he’s back in the band for the third time.

The Cure has just wrapped up a 44-song, nearly four-hour performance at Australia’s famed Sydney Opera House — a concert that found Robert Smith & Co. running through the band’s first three albums in their entirety and reuniting with former keyboardists Lol Tolhurst and Roger O’Donnell.

Last night in Los Angeles, Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan played an eight-song set that included covers of Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart,’ David Bowie’s ‘Cracked Actor’ and the Damned’s ‘New Rose,’ plus Depeche Mode hits ‘I Feel You’ and ‘Personal Jesus,’ the latter with guest Martin Gore.

Last night in Liverpool, Mick Jones brought his post-Clash outfit Big Audio Dynamite out of retirement for the original lineup’s first concert in 22 years, the opening night of a nine-date U.K. tour that will be followed by a pair of U.S. gigs and a slot at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California next month.

Gang of Four wrapped up its recent North American tour — in support of the band’s first all-new studio album in more than 15 years — in Los Angeles this week, and while the, er, gang was in L.A., they recorded a 40-minute live set for KCRW.
