Goth-rock figureheads The Mission will document their ongoing 25th anniversary reunion this fall with a limited-edition 3-disc CD/DVD set called Silver that features two full concerts recorded last year and part of a third on either DVD or Blu-ray, plus a bonus CD featuring near-complete audio from one of the gigs as well.
The set will be available at the merch stand during The Mission’s now Killing Joke-less U.K. tour with The Cult this September, then will be released more broadly on Oct. 12. The band — which currently features original members Wayne Hussey, Simon Hinkler and Craig Adams, plus new drummer Mike Kelly — will play a DVD-release concert Sept. 8 in Bochum, Germany.
Silver features the band’s Oct. 22, 2011, concert in London on one disc and its Nov. 1, 2011, show in Cologne, Germany, on a second disc, plus eight more songs recorded the night before in Frankfurt. The bonus CD features most of the Cologne concert (see full tracklist below).
The Mission last month announced plans to write and record a new album over the next year with an eye toward a fall 2013 release. It will be the band’s first since 2007′s God Is a Bullet, and the first featuring Hussey, Hinkler and Adams since 1990′s Carved In Sand.

Sweet! Love the Mission. Hope the album has that classic sound. I totally lost interest in everything from “Masque” forward. When Wayne decided to go electro-goth and half the band left, it was over in my mind.
Wonder if they’ll play in the U.S.? I would be fuming mad if I’d paid for the Cult/Kj/Mission tour after what Coleman pulled. But then again Killing Joke cancelled 2 weeks before I was to see them in Austin too. Lame.
I’m not a fan of live cd’s like i used to be but i’ll definitely take the DVD’s. :)
