Synthpop pioneer Howard Jones this week announced he’ll release his first proper studio album in a decade this coming May, a collection of new songs called Transform that will be accompanied by a North American tour that begins in early June.
The new album, Jones’ first since 2009’s Ordinary Heroes and the follow-up to his 2015 multimedia project Engage, is due out May 10. Electronic musician BT collaborates with Jones on three songs on the new record, and his band All Hail the Silence will open for Jones on tour alongside Men Without Hats.
The tour — on which Jones debut cuts off Transform and play fan favorites — opens June 6 in Huntington, N.Y., with dates running through July 13 in Las Vegas. More dates are promised, including stops in Canada.
