Maintaining his reputation as a risky concert investment, Morrissey canceled his show at the Fox Theater Oakland, Calif., last night — the second time in two years Moz has scrubbed a performance in that city. This time, according to SF Weekly, the show was called off because Morrissey’s drummer suffered an eye injury. Promoters are promising to reschedule, but no new date has surfaced.
On his current tour, Moz already had postponed the opening night in Chicago because his lead guitarist, Boz Boorer, was held up “due to a visa administration error.” Morrissey now heads south of the border for six concerts in Mexico, followed by a Detroit gig, the Chicago make-up date and, possibly, a rescheduled Oakland concert.
